DBi Services attends RoSPA Centenary Royal Garden Party
As a long-standing member of the society, DBi Services was invited to the celebration, with Jim Dawson, DBi Services UK HSQE Manager, attending the event. “As I am fairly active within the society and have assisted with some of their projects and events over the year, it was an high honor to attend and represent DBi Services and our commitment to safety,” said Dawson. “DBi Services was also shortlisted to receive an award for our safety performance. News of what level award we may receive will not be announced until prior to their Black Tie presentation to be held in Glasgow in September.”
In a message on the RoSPA website, the organization stated, “We’re looking back over a century of changing attitudes to safety, our groundbreaking campaigns and the successes achieved, especially on the roads and in our workplaces where there have been big falls in the numbers of people killed or injured in accidents. But we’re also remembering those who have died, and their loved ones left behind, as well as those whose injuries have changed their lives irrevocably. It’s their stories coupled with the latest figures that show that accidental deaths and injuries are on the rise, especially in our homes, which means our passion to make a difference remains as strong as ever, especially when it comes to keeping kids safe. We know there is still much hard work to be done and we’re confident that with our growing movement of supporters we will build a community where no family need suffer the anguish of an accident that didn’t have to happen.”
The garden party was the pinnacle of RoSPA’s ongoing centenary celebrations, which include a special exhibition at the Library of Birmingham, showcasing 100 years of accident prevention and including many of RoSPA’s iconic and historical workplace safety posters.
