TRAFFIC SIGN MANAGEMENT

Using revolutionary imaging technology, a new vehicle mounted sign inspection and mapping
system is now available from DBi Prismo. A set of measurements are taken at night while the inspection vehicle is moving at highway speed. These measurements include: the sign's reflectivity, size, location, expected life and approximate replacement dates. This incredible system allows accurate sign measurements to be made in a fraction of the time required by conventional sign measurement systems.

Customized, high sensitivity cameras installed on the inspection vehicle measure sign luminance even under low light conditions. The cameras' response curve is equivalent to that of the human eye and allows for a consistent measure of luminance.

The inspection vehicle's double-lighting system has been specially developed, regulated and calibrated to avoid any influence from external lighting sources. The LED-based lighting system makes it possible to know the exact amount of light reaching the signs and is geometrically calibrated to measure sign reflectivity, dimension. position and color. All data collected is then processed and mapped to provide a complete sign inventory and assessment.
