The goal of an invasive species and noxious weed program is to target areas where fast-spreading noxious weeds threaten to take over right-of-ways and move into farmlands, forest areas and private property. Every Federal, State and local agency has formed a list of invasive species within their geographic location. These species have caused billions of dollars of damage and are now required by law to be controlled or eradicated.
