PLANT GROWTH REGULATOR

The goal of a Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) Program is to reduce the growth rate of primary and secondary turf areas within the right-of-way, ultimately reducing the amount of mechanical mowing required.

The benefits of implementing a PGR Program are:

• Eliminated need for multiple mowing cycles, thus reducing the cost
• Proper application will reduce the blade growth, but will strengthen the root system allowing the grass to stay healthy at all times
• Improved aesthetics
• Proper applications can suppress the seed heads of undesirable grasses allowing desirable grasses (Bermuda grass) to spread rapidly and promote uniform turf
• Increased amount of time between mowing cycles
